How do designs start?

Designs start somewhere - whether it be on a napkin while in the coffee shop (yes, that has happened), on a school desk (thats how Penny People started in Grade 6) or most likely - in a sketch book. One thing that people love to see is how the designs actually start, and so we wanted to sway from our normal posts, to show you how designs begin. You'll probably see some of these illustrations turned into stationery on PennyPeople.com within the next month!

This is also how we start when we create a custom order for a client - we start with a sketch, work on a number of variations, and then colour it so it will look like teh characters online! An example is the Monkey Invitation which was originally a custom piece done for a client. You can view the final product online here.
