We are Family

I'm going to announce our winner for the Poster-of-all-posters shortly - I've actually gone ahead and gotten the winning poster printed, I'm waiting for it to come back to me, and then it's just a matter of posting the picture. :) I also have a great offer for all that posted also, so everyone really is a winner! (So stay tuned!)

In the meantime, I thought I would post what I've been working on, a new line of art prints! I was inspired by my Dad - he's been working on a Family Tree for some time using a computer program that will create a very detailed graph of our family lineage. Prior to that, my Grandfather went as far back as the 1800's and gave each of us grandchildren a family history book that he created filled with photographs and articles of our family history. So....I thought that it was my time that I added to the family interest and put my spin on it - a personalized Art Print!

I'm just trying to figure out how to offer up the customization to our customers but as soon as I do, they will be available on our Etsy shop. :)

I welcome ideas for the print! (Or any print for that matter) I'd love to hear your comments!

I'm out of the office today picking up stock, as we ran out rather quickly, and surprisingly of paper & all of the things that we need! So I'm off to the paper mill, but I'll be back in the studio tonight to answer e-mails and hopefully see some ideas that you may have for prints, or even feedback on the Family Tree. :)

  1. Oh, I just love the family tree! I would definitely be interested in ordering one up for my little guy, especially when he's a bit older (he's only 15 months now!).

I can't wait to see who won the contest (fingers crossed it's me!.. I've been checking back every day to see if you've posted the results!) :)

  2. Super cute! Been wanting something like this for the walls ever since I saw this do-it-yourself scrapbook version, which I don't know when (or if) I'll get around to.

Definetly would like there to be somewhere on the print that says the family's name.

  3. another adorable design! personalization could be tough depending on how many generations you include! Maybe also including the surnames would be nice too!

  5. Lindsay, what a great idea! I like how you kept it just to 3 generations. That way you can have thank you cards for grandparents, print for baby's room, etc. I also like the color scheme...

  6. Thank you so much for the feedback! I'm still playing around with the design, and am so glad some of you pointed out the last name as something you'd like for the print. I was wondering if I should do it - and after reading comments, have realized it definietly should be an option!

Katie - The scaprbook project looks SO fun. How sweet would something like that be for a milestone birthday like a 60th for a parent, or a parents Anniversary - to see everyones faces in the Family tree form. LOVE IT!
I totally agree that the last name should be somewhere. I've been playing around with where it could go. Funny how the little things stump me sometimes.

Bruinbr - Yes, the generations also stumped me, I think maybe for the inital design I may just keep it to parents & grandparents (and children) You can see how I left out my husband (sorry!) as I was also contemplating how to add him in!

Melanie - You made me giggle out loud! I LOVE your initial reaction! Thank you so much for letting me know!! :)

Valeria - I was thinking of definitely doing smaller prints, such as one personalizable face that could be framed. I hit a road block with creativity though with it. :(
